The City of Manchester institute of Gymnastics has had many successes over the years at regional, national, international, Commonwealth and Olympic levels.

Below is the CMIG “Wall of Fame” – those gymnasts who have proudly represented their country in competition thanks to their training at CMIG.

Paul Bowler — British Senior Champion 1991. Barcelona Olympic Games competitor. British Senior Team Champion member 1993.

Marvin Campbell —British Senior Champion 1993 and 1995. Barcelona Olympic Games competitor. British Senior Team Champion member 1993.

John Smethurst — Kuala Lumpur 1998 Commonwealth Games, Gold and Bronze medalist. Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games, Gold and Bronze medalist.

2000 British Team Champions — Abid Munir, John Smethurst, Lee Moulton, Mark Freeman, Chris Hanson and Gareth Hazzelby.

Mark Freeman — 2002 European Champion and Gold medalist on Rings. This was the first European or World Gold medal ever won by a British gymnast, male or female.

Martin Gordon — 2004 European Championship Vault finalist.

Stefanie Bowles — 2012: A member of team England in a competition against South Africa.
